Question / Issue

Who else will know what I am going to tell you?

COPE provides a professaional confidential service.

However, if we have concerns about your life or someone else’s life especially childcare concerns then we would inform a third party, e.g. GP or social work.

However, we would let you know we were going to do this and why, and we would try and encourage you to do this voluntarily, only if you refused would we then notify the appropriate party, but you would know we were going to do it, what we were going to say and why. However, these are the only occasions when information is shared with a third party.

The staff do share information with each other when it is in the interests of the client to do so e.g. at support and supervision of where it is in your interests maybe to have another worker within C.O.P.E., they would need to know why they were going to see you.
