All Clinical staff and the Manager holds a professional qualification in human service provision with a minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience.

Individuals using C.O.P.E.’s services will be treated with courtesy and respect and their issues treated in confidence.

If there are concerns over a person’s safety, the safety of others or child care concerns and the staff at COPE feel either the individual’s GP or social work services should be involved the individual’s would be supported to voluntarily seek this help.

If they refused, C.O.P.E. would involve the third party and the individuals would be informed as to why this action was being taken.

We have statutory duties to uphold especially in relation to child protection.

Individuals will be treated equally regardless of race, religion, ethnic background, sexuality, gender or disability. C.O.P.E. adheres to all statutory legislation and anti-discriminatory practice in areas of equity.

Moreover, morally and ethically we strongly believe in respect and equality for all.

Individuals referred to the service will be offered an appointment within 7 days with a follow up appointment within 7 days.

Packages of support will be determined in partnership with the individual seeking support and led by their needs.

Where C.O.P.E. cannot meet those needs support will be offered to seek help elsewhere. Support and progress will regularly be reviewed with the individual’s worker and monitored through support and supervision with the clinical team leader.

If as part of support an individual is also working with another counsellor e.g. a worker in the field of substance misuse, then if the client would prefer they can also have this session at C.O.P.E. at a mutually agreeable time when a room is free for their and their substance misuse workers use.
