We work with a variety of people and situations, from people who have suffered long term mental health problems, parents and families in crisis, people who have a range of abuse issues that are affecting their lives, people who substance misuse to someone having problems coping with work.

C.O.P.E.'s individual support services are wide and varied and include:

  • Crisis intervention when people have feelings of suicide.
  • Abuse counselling.
  • Anxiety management advice including; post traumatic stress disorder and phobia.
  • Guided self help on stress management.
  • Guided self help on anger management.
  • Guided self help on overcoming depression.
  • Bereavement counselling.
  • Family and Relationship counselling.
  • Relaxation techniques.
  • Dietary and lifestyle advice including over comnig alcohol and drug misuse as well as stopping smoking.
  • Guided self help on increasing confidence and self esteem.
  • Guided self help on increasing motivation.
  • Guided self help on emotional intelligence.
  • Advice on use of essential oils.
  • Non directive counselling.
  • Active listening.
  • Solution focused work.
  • Advice, guidance and practical help accessing other services.
  • Support to access life long learning/employment.
  • Support to remain in employment.
  • Mediation with employers where mental health is an issue.
  • Promoting mental health and well being and life preserving activities.
  • Informal support activities to gain confidence includes:
    • Opportunities to attend and influence the social justice agenda locally.
    • Opportunities to take part in COPE planning and development days.
    • Support to attend other community activities e.g. adult literacy classes.
    • Volunteering opportunities e.g. ; learning and using participatory appraisal skills to highlight areas of need for people with mental/emotional health issues.
    • Supporting other voluntary projects with business plans to web presences etc.
